MUA ‘Undress Your Skin’ Shimmer Highlighter Shades

If you read my posts regularly (I know there are a handful of you, and I luv u), you might have noticed a pattern in my makeup routine. There is one particular highlighter that I favour above the rest, and that is my ‘Undress Your Skin’ Highlighting Powder by one of the best (in my humble opinion) drugstore makeup brands, MUA, in the shade Iridescent Gold. The slightest sweep gives such a bright, beautiful gleam, it’s hard to believe it cost me just three of my best British pounds. That’s why, when I was scrolling through my Instagram feed a few months back and saw that more shades of my favourite pixie dust were being released, I was so excited and had to get my hands on them!

Father Christmas was generous enough to bless me with two new shades: Rosewood Glimmer and Golden Afterglow. Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to try them out.

In terms of packaging, they’re both the same as Iridescent Gold, as expected. They’re lightweight white plastic, giving a simple sophisticated look, and the clear clip-flip lid lets you see the lovely rippled effect of the powder which I think makes this highlighter look so special.

The first, Rosewood Glimmer, is a gorgeous supplement to the rose-gold trend and leaves a cute, almost flushed shimmer on your cheeks:

The second, Golden Afterglow, is perfect for giving your face a beautiful deep bronze gleam, and would look so gorgeous in the summer or with a bit of a fake bake going on:

Neither shade is quite as bright or kind of glittery as Iridescent Gold, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing; they’re more subtle while still dazzling anyone who glances your way.

The two shades have most definitely met the high expectations set by Iridescent Gold, and I have a feeling you’ll be seeing a lot more of them in my future makeup looks. My only teeny tiny personal complaint would be the pigmentation thing, but that’s just because I like to look like I’ve rolled around in actual real-life stardust before I leave the house — but that doesn’t mean I can’t be won over, and for a £3 pricetag, it would be rude to whinge!

  1. I love the iridescent gold highlighter too! It’s so shimmery and glowy especially considering how cheap it is! However i haven’t tried the other colours but they look and sound amazing so will definitely have to give them a try. Thank you 🙂
