Happy new year, my lovelies! I may be a day or two off the bat, but have my well wishes anyway! I brought in 2017 with a bang, at a fancy dress party with my bestie Danielle — we roped in her boyfriend and his brother and dressed up as the Flintstones and the Rubbles! I might have had a bevvy or two too many (don’t mix your drinks, kids), and needed some extra recovery time, hence the lateness of the year’s first Makeup Monday!
For the occasion, I’ve used a selection of makeup bits and pieces that I received as Christmas gifts and am very excited about! I’ll definitely be putting up separate reviews for my favourites, but for now you’ll have to make do!
My first new product I used was I Heart Makeup’s Chocolate and Peaches eyeshadow palette. I already own the Pink Fizz palette in the same range and I absolutely love the quality, the concept, and the price (in comparison to its alleged dupe’s forty quid price tag), so I was overjoyed to find Chocolate and Peaches in my stocking on Christmas morning.
I used the pale creamy shade Delicious to create a bright even base, and blended the nude-fawn shade Lush into my socket. I then created a warm crease with the chocolatey-brown shade Luscious, and covered the entire lid with olive-green shade Choc. Lastly I added a dab of light gold Sweet in the centre of the lid to add a little more shimmer, and finished the look off with a sweep of liner and a couple of coats of mascara.
For my highlighter (and I’m extremely excited about this) I used another I Heart Makeup product: Unicorn Hearts from the Blushing Hearts range. I remember a rainbow highlighter creating a storm on BitterLaceBeauty’s Etsy shop, but as it was a limited edition (I’m assuming, as it’s no longer available to buy online), I wasn’t able to get my hands on it. When I Heart Makeup came out with their variation, I was thrilled, and I’ve worn it pretty much everyday since the 25th. The colours seem to merge seamlessly and can be used altogether or separately, and the glow is devastatingly impressive even without taking the £4.99 price tag.
I’d add a link to buy here, but it’s currently not on TamBeauty’s website, so if you want to purchase one for yourself, you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled!
Lastly, I also acquired another shade of my favourite range of liquid lipsticks, MUA Luxe’s Velvet Lip Lacquers. The shade is one of their new releases and is called Panache (I included it in my Blogmas post about festive lip colours!). I was so excited about this beautiful deep wine shade, so I’m thrilled it’s turned out to be as great quality as the other shades I own. I’m completely obsessed with it and I wish I could wear it everyday.
